Najeeb Al-Hasadi is a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Benghazi and a Consultant, Access to Justice in Libya Project at Leiden University.
Najeeb Al-Hasadi was born on the 25 August 1952 in the city of Derna, Libya, and he was educated in Libyan schools from primary, intermediate and secondary levels, and at the university level he traveled to the United States of America, to obtain a degree from Georgetown, Washington D.C. C, USA in 1977, and a Master’s degree also from Wisconsin, Madison, United States in 1979. As for the Ph.D., he passed it successfully from Wisconsin, Madison, USA in 1982.
After his return to the homeland in Libya, Najeeb Al-Hasadi assumed the position of Head of the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Arts, Qar Yunis University, Benghazi, Libya. Following this, he travelled to the United Arab Emirates, where he assumed the position of Head of the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Humanities in the United Arab Emirates University during the period 2001 to 2002. Then he assumed the position of Associate Dean of the Heritage and Culture Unit at the UAE University also from 2003 to 2004, then Chairman of the Graduate Studies Committee at the College of Humanities, UAE University also from 2004 to 2005.
